Itinerary Details

Day 1: Arrive in Torshavn

Arrive at Vagar airport and transfer to your hotel in Torshavn. Rest of day at leisure.

Day 2: Northern Highlights

Begin the adventure on the wonderful island of Bordoy, where we explore Klaksvik, the heart of the fishing industry in the Faroe Islands. You will visit the remote village of Kunoy and drive north to the picturesque Vidareidi. On the way back to Torshavn, drive through the fascinating underwater tunnel where Trondur Patursson has decorated the roundabout.

Day 4: Trip to Vestmanna bird cliffs

Day trip to the Majestic Vestmanna Mountains and the historic Viking settlements of Kvivik. The day starts with an exciting boat trip to Vestmanna Sea cliffs, where we explore the dramatic cliffs and some of the hidden caves. On the way back to Torshavn visit the Viking settlements in the beautiful settlement of Kvivik and make several photo stops on our way.

Day 5: Highlights of Streymoy and Eysturoy Tour

Drive to the idyllic village of Saksun, which lies picturesquely bound in a small fjord with high mountains on both sides. Continue on to the village of Tjornuvik, on route stop at the waterfall Fossa. From Tjornuvik you can see the impressive rock formations the Giant and the Witch. Before reaching Gjogv you will have a view of the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands, Slaettaratindur (882 m). In Gjogv, see the natural harbour which the village is named after.

Day 6: Day at Leisure in Torshavn

Day trip to the historic island of Sandoy, one of the most unspoiled islands where you can still experience the old, Faroese way of life. Drive from Torshavn over the mountain to the ferry harbor Gamlaraett, where you will drive through the new subsea tunnel. The guide entertains with sagas from the island. Experience a church visit, fantastic viewpoints and small villages. Before returning to Torshavn, visit Kirkjubour, which is the Faroe Islands' historical and cultural center. See the unfinished Magnus Cathedral and the small medieval church of St. Olav.
