Day 1: Arrive in Frankfurt

In the morning travel to the city of Baden-Baden, the former summer residence of European aristocrats and world famous for its elegant spa resort. Another attraction is the casino, at the entrance of the Black Forest. Visit the city and surrounding region.

This upscale hotel on 0.4-hectare grounds is a 5-minute walk from Museum Frieder Burda's modern art and 11 minutes’ from the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden opera house.

After breakfast travel towards the southern part of the Black Forest, taking the high route through the Black Forest. Stop at Vogtsbauernhof; this open-air museum gives a great overview of the way of life in this region. Then arrive at Titisee, the glacial lake nestled in the heart of the Black Forest. Make a brief stop at Hofgut Sternen to learn more about the fascinating world of cuckoo clocks. In the afternoon continue to Freiburg.
